The Danish Jamboree 2022 is a Scouting and Guiding event that will take place in Hedeland, Denmark in 2022. It is expected to be Europe’s largest Scouting and Guiding event of the year, and will attract 40,000 participants from all over the world.

A scout jamboree is a large gathering of Scouts from all over the world, usually held every four years. At a jamboree, Scouts participate in a variety of activities, including camping, hiking, and Scouting competitions.

This jamboree will be a place where Scouts and Guides can come together and enjoy fellowship, outdoor activities, and challenges. Hedeland is a place where water, nature, and outdoor adventure meet, which will provide unique opportunities for some cool and unexpected activities for Scouts and Guides. The Scouts and Guides will sleep in tents, cook their own meals over open fire, and will need to pioneer dinner tables using only wooden pools and ropes.

The first World Scout Jamboree was organized in London in 1920 by The Boy Scout Association. It has been organized approximately every four years since, in different locations around the world.

The word Jamboree comes from the Zulu language, the language of the Zulu nation, the vast majority of whom (over 95%) live in South Africa. It means “gathering of tribes”. Baden Powell adopted this word to refer to scout meetings (both national and international).

Each “tribe” would be the Scouts who come from different places to meet with other brother Scouts.

How to raise money to attend a scout jamboree?

To raise money for this event, scouts can hold fundraisers, such as car washes, bake sales, or yard sales. The classics are still the cake sales. But it doesn’t work all the time… Tip: Don’t give a fixed price: some people will give 50 cents, and the most generous ones, 5 euros!
You can also go into a supermarket (with the owner’s prior permission) and help customers put products into bags. A beret placed at the checkout will allow them to give you some money as a reward.

You can print a poster with this type of text: “Have you always wanted to have your garden trimmed? You don’t have time to clear out your attic or garden? Don’t hesitate to call us, the scouts will be happy to help you for a small fee that will be used for their summer camp”

Selling items can be very useful too. At the beginning of the year, it is possible to sell calendars, but you can also get finance throughout the year by selling button badges, keyrings, magnets
