Cutting Your Artwork to Size
Our Maxi badge machine kit includes both a circle cutter and a Perspex cutting board, specifically designed for safely cutting out your artwork without damaging your surfaces.
The circle cutter will cut out the finished size of the badge, including room for part of it to wrap around the metal front, so you should keep this in mind when designing your badges!
Please note – the circle cutter features an extremely sharp blade. While this allows you to perfectly cut your artwork, it’s important to supervise children during this process to prevent accidents.
When to Use a Spacer
If you want to make 45mm or 58mm components, you’ll need a spacer. Spacers are placed in the die when a kit is purchased. We also sell replacement spacers, if needed. If you’re making bottle openers, you’ll get a special C-shaped spacer in your component set, which is only used for bottle openers.
Maxi Badge Machine FAQs
The main difference between the two machines is the speed of operation. The Maxi machine is faster than the Mini, due to the seamless sliding die mechanism, allowing you to produce 6-8 badges per minute.
There is no difference in the products you can make, or in the quality of those products.
The Maxi badge maker can make badges in five different sizes: 25mm, 38mm, 45mm, 58mm and 77mm. You can also make fridge magnets and clothes magnets in these sizes. For other components, not all sizes may be available.

Thanks to its smooth sliding die mechanism, the Maxi badge maker lets you make up to 8 badges a minute.
You can use any paper to make your badges, as long as it’s not too thick (as this will jam the machine). Standard printer paper (80-120gsm) is perfect, as it’s not too thin or too thick, but you can also use craft paper, wrapping paper and even thin fabric.
However, we don’t recommend using photo paper as the finish and thickness can cause it to jam the machine.
Simply cut your chosen artwork or fabric to the correct size with one of our circle cutters, and you’re good to go.
Along with badges (naturally!), you can make any of our products with the Maxi machine. Here’s a full list of what you can make:

- Keyrings (regular keyrings, mirror keyrings and bottle opener keyrings
